The city doesn't sleep.
It just changes shifts.

At 3am the taxis are still running,
the 7-Eleven still counting its receipts,
somewhere a data center
still processing someone else's night.

And I am here
with the screen light on my face,
making decisions
no one will remember
by morning.

That's not loneliness.
Loneliness is that I don't mind.
