
I'm a guy from Taichung, came to Tainan for school,
Stayed six years for college and grad school;
Studying, playing ball, joining clubs,
Never forgot to visit many shops.
Tainan's snacks live up to their fame,
Every shop a world of its own.
First, head to Guohua Street,
So many snacks inside.
Fu Sheng Bowl Rice Cake is famous,
Jin De sells spring rolls;
Left side, Ya De's当归 duck,
Keep going, oyster omelet.
Right side, Ah Song's割包,
And Ah Juan's rice dumplings.
At the intersection, a star fruit drink shop,
Xu's Taro Cake by the street.
Peek out at Minzu Road,
Yongle sells roasted pork rice;
Not enough just walking the street,
The big market has more stalls.
Zheng's土魠鱼羹,
At the end, Ah Rui's意面.
Must eat at Jiang Shui Hao,
Taro so soft and sweet.
Come out to the other side,
Shakaliba, try something new;
Rong Sheng Rice Cake leads the way,
Then Ah Cai's snack shop.
Liao's老板 stir-fries eel,
Chikan's specialty: coffin bread.
Take a break, then keep going,
Straight to Anping for shrimp rolls.
If Zhou's is too familiar,
There's Chen Ji's oyster rolls;
Anping Old Street has three treasures,
Plus tofu pudding and preserved fruit.
Mao Ji and Tong Ji serve tofu pudding,
One black, one white—order both.
Zheng He Xing sells preserved plums,
Yong Tai Xing has dried guava.
Tian Cong Bo sells fish ball soup,
In front of the fort, oyster omelet;
Eat and play, that's the way,
Climb Anping Fort for a view.
Eternal Fortress has cannons,
Tait & Co. Merchant House wax museum.
Back downtown, not done yet,
Tainan snacks are endless.
Just dumplings alone,
Count them, so many shops;
Liu Jia, Hai Long, Circle Top,
Yang Ge Yang Sao adds more.
Century-old Zai Fa Hao,
Eight-treasure dumpling, a hundred bucks.
Or bowl rice cakes, plenty too,
Xiao Nan and Sen Mao, two days' worth.
I prefer Xiao Xi Jiao,
Don't forget the bean soup;
On Minzu Road, right side,
Red-braised土魠鱼羹 noodles.
Only at night, eight-treasure ice,
Across from the Far Eastern department store;
Besides Song Cun smoked goods,
Yamabo内有 shrimp rolls.
And you, me, him duck wings,
Near Shin Kong Mitsukoshi alley.
Ji Cheng and Ai Zi Cheng,
Same school, shrimp rice.
Like split duck meat soup,
Qing Zhen and Dong Qiao became two;
Tainan's famous beef soup,
Shi Jing Jiu for breakfast.
Or wake up very early,
Ah Hui opens at 3 AM.
Almost forgot to write about肉圆,
First, the stall in front of Wu Temple.
On Fuchien Road, Fu Ji,
Next to Lily Fruit Shop;
Shrimp肉圆 also famous,
Just count the names.
You Cheng, Mao Xiong start the list,
Yong Qi, Jian Guo make four.
Eel意面 can't forget,
Ah Tie, Zhen Wei, Ah Yuan.
Xiao Du, Ah Long often heard,
Two shops also sell意面;
Drink water, catch my breath,
Use the restroom, then continue.
Don't mind the structure,
Freely type away.
Old Zheng and Old Deng, different shops,
But both sell beef noodles.
Ah Ming's business supports college,
And Old Tang never moved;
A friend's family runs Zhan Ji,
I'll recommend without bias.

Yao Ji grilled skewers for late night,
Ah Han savory porridge for breakfast.
Bao Zi Lu on Kaishan Road,
Rou Bao Hui in front of the market;
Shang Fu sells pork chop rice,
Fu Tai rice table, pick as you like.
Du Xiao Yue and Hong Yu Tou,
Traditional minced pork noodles.
Small squid rice noodles far away,
Zhuo Jia Shantou sells fish noodles.
Rice cake capital: Xia Da Dao,
Ah Guo goose meat, night never ends;
Shanghai Wei Xiang and Hua Du,
All listed on Minquan Road.
Same street, Tai Yang Cheng,
Red bean milk ice, super good.
In front of Zong Gan Palace, Song Zi Jiao,
Shuang Quan black tea next door.
Pudding: Jin Fang, Yi Lei Te,
Shun Tian popsicles hidden in alley;
Finally, Yi Feng winter melon tea,
One breath, but limited.
