Ten years pass in a snap of fingers,
I recall the bright moon over Bai Causeway.
Young and naive, I forced sorrow into words,
Only after life's trials did I wake.

Partings and reunions are the norm,
The moon is full only rarely, often waning.
Pretence and lies are meaningless,
Life is short—live it true!
